what to expect at In-person Physical Therapy at Radiance PT

If you’re pregnant and want to understand your abs and pelvic floor before birth, dealing with pelvic pain or leakage that’s distracting you from training, or you’ve tried pelvic PT before and still don’t have the results you want, you’re in the right place. No two bodies—and no two pelvic floors—are the same. Our work together is about figuring out what’s happening in your body so you can keep exercising with more confidence, less fear, and fewer setbacks.

During the Embodied Athlete Consultation

Your story first: a detailed history of your past injuries, symptoms, and medical factors that may be contributing.

Whole‑Body Assessment: a thorough look at the way your body works together—feet, hips, and pelvic floor—so you can understand what symptoms like pelvic heaviness, pelvic pain, bladder leaks, and urgency are actually telling you.
Clear next steps: we map out a plan based on your goal—whether that’s deadlifting without back pain, running without leakage, or preparing your pelvic floor for birth.

What you’ll walk way with

  • Treatment plan for painful or weak areas with real feedback—not vague, general advice.

  • The exact types of movements to practice consistently so flares don’t keep interrupting your fitness.

  • A better understanding of your body’s movement preferences so you can train with more confidence, without pelvic floor issues slowing you down.

For pregnant athletes wanting to join the Empowered Pregnant Athlete Program—

  • You can also expect guidance on how to adapt your ab, running, and strength workouts so that you don’t miss a beat in the gym with your friends, dedicated Push Prep sessions to help you practice effective pushing and learn how to lengthen/relax your pelvic floor, so you can feel more confident going into labor and lower your risk of major injury.

Important: Please understand that all paperwork in the Client Portal should be completed by 48 hours before your first appointment. HSA, FSA, and major Credit Cards are accepted. I am unable to work with clients with any form of Medicare.

The Radiance PT APproacH to Pelvic Health—

Your pelvic floor is more than just a few muscles down there — it's a collection of support muscles that holds up your bladder, bowel, and uterus, while also helping you enjoy sex without pain, run without leakage, and have easy bowel movements.

Pelvic floor PT is the specialized care that looks at how those muscles are actually functioning — too tight, too weak, or just out of sync with the rest of your body — and builds a plan to get them working for you again.

It's so much more than Kegels.

It looks like hands-on treatment, curated active sports specific exercises off the treatment table in our gym with more than 300lbs of weights, strength training, and education that meets you where you are.

COMMON ISSUES ADDRESSED AT RADIANCE PT—

Honestly, because the pelvic floor works with your whole body, it impacts your qualify of life more than most people expect. Some of the most common things we help with:

  • Leaking — whether it's a cough, a sneeze, or a heavy set of box jumps

  • Prolapse— pelvic pressure, heaviness, pessary fitting,

  • Pelvic pain — including pain with intimacy, tailbone pain, or nerve-related discomfort

  • Pregnancy and postpartum recovery — diastasis recti, scar tissue, and returning to the sport you love

  • Bowel issues — constipation, straining, or urgency that no one talks about enough

Do I need to "have a problem" to come in?

Nope. So much of what we do is proactive, not reactive. You don't have to wait until something's wrong to invest in how your body works — and honestly, that's the whole point.

Where do I start?

Right where you are. Whatever brought you here, whether it's something you've been quietly dealing with for a while or just a feeling that your body could be working with you instead of against you, you don't need to have it all figured out before you reach out.

The Embodied Athlete Consultation is our first step together. It's a conversation, not a checklist — a chance to really be heard, to share what's going on in your body and your life, and to start building a plan that actually fits you. You bring the questions (or even just the feeling that something's off); we'll bring the listening and the expertise.
