Has running been on your mind but you are worried about back pain, accidental leakage, and that has been bothering you since pregnancy?
You are in the right place!

Running is one of the most accessible sports to new moms due to convenience and ease to access. However the high impact nature of running, injuries can occur from the repetitive dynamic forces. 

Pelvic floor problems that are often common with running include accidental bladder leaks, fecal leakage, urinary urgency,  pelvic pressure or heaviness. 

  • Up to 40% of runners who haven't given birth complain of leakage

  • 78% of runners report lower body pain when returning to running 

  • Up to 30% of postpartum runners experience leakage 

During the pregnancy or postpartum stages, female athletes often encounter unique circumstances due to adaptations from a growing baby or changes that may have occurred during the birth process which can be a challenge for a postpartum runner. 

Intro to Running POstpartum WORKSHOP

When: August 7, 12pm
Where: University Chiropractic, Durham NC

This workshop is for you if-

✅ You stopped running during pregnancy because of pain or discomfort but You're eager to get back to running but aren't sure where to start.
✅ You are a brand new wannabe runner and have NO clue where to start
✅ You've noticed an abdominal separation or pelvic floor symptoms and want evidence-based guidance.

What to expect:

This is an interactional and educational workshop designed to help postpartum moms understand what true running readiness looks like.

We'll tackle:

  • How to know if your body is ready to run so that you reduce running related injury risk 

  • What your pelvic floor, core, and hips need for running

  • Why leakage, pressure, or back pain happen—and what you can do about them

Plus, you will walk away with your Postpartum Running Readiness Roadmap to help you return to running with confidence and trust in your new postpartum body.

Led by Dr. Mbong Henry, mom of 3, runner, Masters Olympic Weightlifter, a pelvic floor PT and Certified Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach , who's here to help women get back to running with confidence in your postpartum body without the burden of pelvic floor issues like leakage, pressure, or pelvic pain.
